How CSA Works
Community Supported Agriculture is a subscription model in which customers enjoy weekly pickups of fresh produce throughout the growing season after paying a discounted price before the season begins. A CSA share includes an assortment of vegetables picked up at the farm right after they are harvested. Pickups are Tuesdays or Fridays during the summer season from noon to 6pm, and run for 20 weeks from mid June through October. Autumn CSA will have pickups only on Tuesdays from noon to 6pm, and run for 8 weeks from the end of October through mid December.
A whole share provides a good amount of produce for 2 to 4 people, and a half share is sized for 1 or 2 people, depending on their love of vegetables.
CSA with Choice
Our CSA model offers the freedom to choose what veggies you take home. Weekly harvests consist of up to twenty different vegetables, according to what is in season. Half share members choose any 6 of these items, and whole share members choose any 12. Choosing multiples of the same item is welcome.
We grow many heirloom and popular varieties of over 40 different vegetables. Also part of your CSA membership is the opportunity to cut your own flowers and herbs from the farm throughout the season. We want our members to have a direct connection to the farm, and do not offer any drop-off locations for our CSA. If you can’t make a pickup, feel free to have a friend or family member pick up for you, or just let us know and we can reschedule you for the pickup day before or after the date you can’t make.
We are committed to making our CSA accessible. We accept SNAP/EBT, offer sliding scale pricing, and are open to work trades and barters. Please contact us at frithfarmmaine(at)gmail.com if you would like to pay with one of these options.
